Tired of unreliable, sub-par property management? So was I. I got into this business when I tried to find good, honest, competent, professional property management for my condo association. The companies we interviewed (and the one we eventually hired... and fired) were tired, lacked imagination, and did very little to make our lives easier or add value to our property. I created Transproperties Management because I envisioned a better way to do things.
At the core of Transproperties is our commitment to three ideas:
Transparency.
Does your property management company make it hard to access or understand building budgets, expenses, vendor choices, and future plans?
With Transproperties, there are no mysteries. We work with your board to make all appropriate information about budgets, accounts, and future plans available online, all the time.
Communication.
How well does your property management company communicate with your association and board? Are you able to reciprocate? When most property management companies do communicate, it's in one direction. Down. That's not communication. It's publishing.
Transproperties creates an open online forum where all members of the Board and Association can post and comment on questions and issues. It's a healthier, more democratic way to communicate. But this forum is not a substitute for offline communication - we are available for you and your Association by phone all day, every day.
Trust.
Here's the real question. Do you trust your property management company?
Transproperties was created to serve the best interests of the building, its homeowners, and its board. We adhere to a strong code of ethics, selecting all vendors based solely on the value they provide to our customers (and not on the basis of "preferred relationships"). In short, we run your building as though we were an owner there, the way it should be run.
My Story
After graduating from Williams College, I arrived in Chicago in 1996 as a technology consultant for Price Waterhouse (later PricewaterhouseCoopers). I lived in Lakeview, at Belmont and Sheffield, and came to know the north side well. I immediately fell in love with the city and its neighborhoods.
Since then, I've lived in Spain, Tennessee, and San Francisco, enjoyed a successful career in technology consulting, graduated with honors from Vanderbilt's Owen School of Management, and co-founded a company with operations in California and Beijing, China. But Chicago keeps calling me home. I currently reside in the Uptown neighborhood, where I purchased a condominium in 2004 and began my career in property management.
